ISA Install

I have seen some prior discussion of this but have been unable to find the answer. I downloaded ISA from intraware but I get a zip error when trying to unzip it: End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi- part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. nzip: can't find zipfile directory in one of unz520x_tar.z or unz520x_tar.z.zip, and can't find unz520x_tar.z.ZIP, period. Has anyone seen this before and gotten around the problem? TIA Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
judging by the filename you've posted it looks like it was downloaded to a windows system. Since it is trying to unzip a .z file I would guess you are using it on a unix machine. If this is true then this solution could apply (it still might apply if some of it is true). The FTP from your windows system to the unix system MUST be binary. An extension of Z (or z but Z is preferred) means it is a file compressed with the compress utility on UNIX. Use uncompress on it. If the above does not apply, disregard or post more information. brian_fink@my-deja.com wrote: : I have seen some prior discussion of this but : have been unable to find the answer. Use uncompress on it. Actually, the extension .z (lower-case zed, or zee for those using the American alphabet rather than the English one) is for the programs pack and unpack, using a Huffman encoding. There was a brief period when GNU gzip used the .z suffix before it was changed to .gz (to avoid problems with pack/unpack). The extension .Z (upper-case zed [see above]) is for compress/uncompress. GNU gzip handles all these without problems. WinZip handles most of them too. > If the above does not apply, disregard or post more information. > > brian_fink@my-deja.com wrote: > : I have seen some prior discussion of this but > : have been unable to find the answer. Thanks for the input. Eddie @ Intraware got it straightened out for me.
