Hi, in Windows, the services file is not in /etc but in <WINDOWSDIR>/system32/drivers/etc This might be the reason ? I have mistaken that actually serivies file is in <WINDOWSDIR>/system32/drivers/etc only. and my INFORMIXDIR is set to desired location

As this is on two different machines (network identities), you could even use the same service name / port on either side, no need for having a primaryport and secondaryport. Hi, I suspect that naming the same port number with different service names is not supported. We use a common portnumber everywhere, which is only listed once in services. You also have the choice to not name a service in sqlhosts entry but set the port number directly there.
