Using tbtape from cron
Posted in 1994
Here's a cron file I used to back up INFOE to tape: ================================= echo "BEGIN FULL BACKUP OF INFORMIX DB ON " `date +%d/%h/%y-%H:%M:%S` > /usr/informix/fuldbex.out echo "" >> /usr/informix/fuldbex.out echo "BACKING UP DB" >> /usr/informix/fuldbex.out echo '\\n0' | /usr/informix/bin/tbtape -s 1>>/usr/informix/fuldbex.out 2>&1 echo "Backup completed....." `date +%d/%h/%y-%H:%M:%S` >> /usr/informix/fuldbex.out =============================== Lines that are tabbed in are meant to be part of the preceding line. Changing the "n0" to a "n1" will do an incremental rather than a full backup. Your backup must be able to fit one one tape. JJ =========================================================== Jack G.
