I think it's a bug if it says "(expression)" must be in the group by
list. Actually I think makurzz should be in the group by list. I don't
see how 7.23 could possibly have worked without a group by clause. I have
IDS-PE (7.22.TB5) and I just ran your test, and got what I expected: "The
column (makurzz) must be in the GROUP BY list." Your 7.23 must be flaky.
Anyway, it doesn't apply in this case, but you can put expressions in your
group by list by using the column number: GROUP BY 1,2
