I was also under the impression that date formats were set by your GLS settings,
but there is still a use for DBDATE, and that is for anytime you don't want to
use the default.
As to why your date formats are still not being set correctly, do you mean on
input or on output? Once upon a time I noticed that when I used fr_fr settings,
I didn't get 26/11/1998 on my date output, I got "jeudi le 26 novembre 1998"
(hey, don't look at me, I didn't program it). As I recall, if I entered
26/11/1998, it still bombed, but it would still accept 11/26/1998, and it would
accept "jeudi le 26 novembre 1998", if I felt like typing that whole thing.
Hmmmph. Of course, this was a long time ago, and maybe it's been "fixed".
If, using dbaccess, you don't set DBDATE, and simply select a date field, how
does it display?
