Hi all,
I am using PERL to access my inforix 7.30 database under AIX 4.3. I am doing
something like :
--------------------------
my $fichier = "/tmp/test" . $ENV{'INFORMIXSERVER'} . ".unl";
my $requete = "set isolation to dirty read;unload to $fichier select
col1,col2,col3 from ... where ...";
my $result = &dbaccess ($requete,"my_database");
# Read each remaining line
open(REFICH,"cat $fichier |");
my $line = '';
while ($line=<REFICH>)
{
my ($col1,$col2, $col3) = split('\\|',$line);
print &list_row(td($col1), td($col2),
td($col3));
}
close REFICH;
print &end_list('No items from this request'),
--------------------------------------
when the sql request take some minutes, I get the message "No item from this
reques" in my browser. That's because the perl process call a dbaccess
process to execute the request but don't wate the dbaccess process to finish
executind the request and fill the file $fichier.
any one has any idea to resolve this prolem ?????

I hope that some of the other posts on this topic were helpful. Your English is really very good. However, one little bit of off-topic advice: don't let anyone tell you that "gay" and "guy" are the same word. Guy is a common English word meaning "person" or specifically "male person", a little bit like "mec". Not to be confused with "gay" which is the English spelling of "gai" in the sense of "pédé". I know how easy it is to get mixed up (steady chaps!) because only last week I wrote to my landlady and told her that the "comptoir" in my appartment is broken. I meant of course, "compteur". In an attempt to get back on topic I have done a quick search and found a couple of relevant urls: http://examples.informix.com/frameset.html#top?initial_page=/doc/case_studies/perl_cgi/perl_cgiLOC.html http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/ifaq10.htm Salut, Andrew. -- Usenet, a global collection of flaming opinions and senseless babble, was designed as a way to eat up precious spool space on a system's hard drive. It also is a way for people to distribute pornography. (By Robert A. Hayden <www.geekcode.com>)
