My 4GL is a bit rusty - how do you hide a password in a form again, so that you cannot see the text that is being typed in the field ? The best way is to write a 4Gl callable 'C' routine to take in the password without echo. That will give you the control to echo asterisks (or whatever) and visually show backspacing to help the user. You can also do it with a form field by setting the field attributes to include: INVISIBLE. However, this ONLY works correctly if the TERMCAP/TERMINFO setting contains the proper command strings to support it. Art S. Kagel
