Fetch Last returns incorrect record

Hi, I have defined a scroll cursor with hold and the records are ordered. The program using "FETCH ABSOLUTE i" where "i" is the record position retrieves the 1st to the nth record and then the 1st again. If after that I try to fetch the last record using "FETCH LAST" it returns the 1st record in the active set. Any comments welcome. Thanks George
