Why would I want to use "money?" Are there any hazards in using this data type? I vaguely recall cautionary tales from ancient projects about it, but have nothing definite. Has anyone used this data type? Have you had any problems? Also, does the datatype automatically provide -- ie, return -- the currency symbol? Or does the client application have to handle that?
The money data type is basically a decimal type. The main difference, like you mentioned, is its ability to display the value using the currency symbol whatever it is defined as. You may check this using or creating a table with the money field and selecting it. Red Valsen wrote: > Why would I want to use "money?" Are there any hazards in using this > data type?
