Reading Informix tables in Access

Apologies if this question has been asked before but I've searched the web and can't find anything. I have a load of Informix tables with their corresponding .idx files on a Win2000 system. I need to read these tables back in Access. All of the ODBC drivers that I have found assume that you have a running Informix server to plug-in to and get the data off. In my case the data is 'dead' as it is from copy of a hard disk. Is there any way to read the data into Access without having a live Informix server? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sam
