migration using onbar

Has anyone used onbar to migrate a database from one server to another?
I'm using same o/s (solaris 2.6), same informix release (7.31.uc5). Is
there anything about the backups created with onbar that make them
machine dependent? I can use ontape for the migration right now, but
that takes about 8 hours and if i am working from home will require
trips to the office to change the tapes. Is there a way to trick onbar
into using the backup from another machine?
Thanks,

Not onbar but if you are using the ISM Storage Manager then yes,
it is machine dependent as the hostname is used.
