Re: Informix sessions hang !

I would appreciate it if someone would give me a few pointers to the problem below: We are on solaris 5.5.1 with informix 7.22 running r4gl apps. Every now and then we get a user session that freezes up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- A "ps" shows that the user is running the prog and the time is clocking up. An "onstat" shows the the user is in cond wait(sm_read), locked mutex. The cond wait(sm_read) is where the sqlexec thread waits when the thread is waiting for some command to be passed from the client program to the engine via shared memory. The similar condition for a tcp interface is "cond wait(netnorm)". It means the that the engine is waiting for some query from the client program. My guess is that the client program is hung. You might want to try to do a truss of the client program, or possibably attach to the client program via dbx and step through the code that the client program is actually doing. Again any help would be appreciated.
