Replication Question

I have a database for OLTP (24h*7d) in ODS 7.23, and I need a replica in the same machine for DSS and ODBC (read only) in order to separate OLTP from DSS. The replica can be done in hours of low activity (from 2am to 6am). I need an automatic process to do so. What is the best solution: data replication, an archive, ...? Can anyone help me? Thanks

It will replicate logged databases to the standby server. It is database independent, and you need to configure it only once for the complete server. The other server in pair is read only and can be used for DSS/Reporting, but can also be used as backup in case that primary server fails. Replication is done thru logs and carries very small overhead. The drawback is that disk configurations of both servers must be the same. You can find more details in IDS Administrator's guide.
