There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.
In short NO
use dbexport/dbimport to migrate data from one version to another. if
you are updating your version, do a level 0 archive AND a dbexport
before you upgrade.
also be aware that at one time dbexport/dbimport did not function
correctly in at least one release, requiring some manual intervention,
I don't know if this has been fixed and/or what releases it pertains
to.
