Normally correct. However, your machine apparently crashed or was powered down without shutting down the Informix engine. Because of this, and the cooincidence that a checkpoint started record was written to disk, the logical log buffer containing the checkpoint complete record had not yet been written to disk and was lost or the crash happened during the checkpoint. The fast restore code expects to see a checkpoint complete record for each checkpoint begun record and so it is confused. Call tech support and they can zero out the checkpoint begun records and the engine will then come up. Art S. Kagel
