I am new to this user group. Scanning the most recent postings I could not find something that would help me solve my current problem. Therefore can I please ask for some help with my Informix problem. Installing a product that uses Informix, on Solaris 2.5 on a Sparc 20 with 128Mb memory, when the installation gets to initialise Informix, I get the following :- Initializing the Informix database. This will take a few minutes. Shutting down Informix (if necessary)......... Successful Initializing the Informix database root file .......... There was a problem during the Informix installation Installation has not completed Studying the logs I found :- tbmode: shared memory not initialized This will take Informix-OnLine OFFLINE - do you wish to continue (y/n) ? tbinit:shmget[ENOMEM][12]: out of shared memory, check system SHMALL tbinit:fatal error in shared memory creation My question is what input files does tbinit use to come to the conclusion that it is short of shared memory. My physical memory requirement is within the product's specification and the /etc/system is set up as required by the product. Thanks in Advance, Joe (please remove _ to reply via email)
