ESQL/C newbie
Posted in 2000
Hello list - I am looking for help. I would like to run a program called GIPSY (http://elib.cs.berkeley.edu/src/gipsy/gipsy-1.0/README) as part of my research here at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The C code is quite old, and was designed to run using the Illustra DB software. I would like to be able to run the program on a Windows machine, using Informix DB software and ESQL/C. However, I cannot get it to run by myself, for I have no experience using ESQL/C, or Informix for that matter. I have installed Informix and ESQL/C and Visual C++ on my computer, but cannot overcome the errors I receive when I try to compile it. Art Kagel (thank you, again) graciously helped me troubleshoot my ESQL/C compiler, and configure the pathname, but I still have errors of the type "error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ..." Art suggested that my code was not finding the Informix libraries and linking to them. Would anyone be willing to help me by looking over the code and advising me on how to proceed? I would like to experiment with the program to see how well it works, and write the results in my Master's thesis. I would like to acknowledge anyone who can help me. A description of my research can be found at my website: http://ucsu.colorado.edu/~sandrew. Sincerely, Andrew Smith sandrew@ucsu.colorado.edu
