I'm about to give up :P Well, the first question is "Can you connect to the 7.x server using DB-Access and ontlitcp?", to which I think the answer will be "No". If DB-Access worked, then DBD::Informix would too, given the same environment. At the very least, I'd be very surprised if DBD::Informix did not also work. One step in debugging this is to cut DBD::Informix out of the loop and ensure that you can connect to the OnLine engine using DB-Access. Which platform are you working on? Which version of ClientSDK? Which 7.x OnLine server? What is the machine name?
