But I'm really surprised you attack the "OO"-ness of NewEra, I would think a "5-year-old windows programmer" would appreciate it. So, what do you think of the descriptions "scalability", "extensibility", "OLTP" ... Doesn't it worry you more than the buzz word "OO". Design and Analysis is the soul of OOP, and yes it takes time, a lot of time in fact, does that mean we shouldn't do it!!! I wonder how many programmers have that misconception that OO means "sit and talk". Anyway, isn't that what NewEra can be used for, transition from structured programming to OOP through its support for a hybrid language architecture.?? Yeah, the tools is slow, takes up a lot of resources, both memory and graphical, there is no doubt about it. But there is no denying that it is a promising tool for 4GL programmers. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@brel.com.sg> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
