Disk Layout with SSA Drives
Posted in 2000
I just came on board with a company whos systems are in need of a complete reorg. Having never worked with ssa drives, I need some help with the layout. Configuration is as follows: Currently 4 mirrored (9.1GB ssa) with 4 used for development (yes they have it on the same box) Proposed (after moving development off) 12 (9.1.GB ssa drives) Requirements state they must be mirrored. Any ideas on an optimal DBSpace layout? I would like to keep root, llog, plog, and the 4 temp spaces on seperate disk. But, does this even matter in this type of configuration? Is raid 10 an option here? If so, how does the striping of the disks affect layout, indexes, etc ... Thanks in advance. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
