IDS 11.50.uc6 - Windows 7
Has anyone tried to set up a small database on a Windows platform using a
removeable USB drive? Does dbaccess work the same on Windows. Does Windows
utilize the same utilities as on Unix such as dbimport, onload, etc.?
Thanks

You won't run UC6 on windoze !! the U indicates 32 bit unix binaries,
you will need a TC version !!

OK. Mis-type 11.50.TC6 - Same questions

I've been on windows for the past several years now - mostly with IDS 10. I
have not thought of putting IDS on a thumb drive, not sure why I would. The
first time you booted the instance without the thumb drive in all chaos
would ensue. Thumbdrives are slower as well.
All utilities work the same - generally. There is no X interface, so no
ipload, no xtree, no perfmon, no onmonitor (that I recall). You use onpladm
for setting up HPL jobs. dbimport/dbexport work the same.
