Hi! I got your EMAIL but somehow it was a bit distorted when I got it. There are a few things I would like to discuss: 1) You mentioned that you are porting HP-UX / informix M Threaded appl. to Solaris. I would like to know what kind of threads were you running on HP-UX ( POSIX or their own threads ). And how were you able to run on HP without the DCE layer underneath. 2) Have you already started writing DCE threads ? If so how different are their calls compared to POSIX/Solaris threads. 3) I talked to one guy at Sales in Transac. He gave me a quote for $4000 to buy the package. He said he might be able to get me an evaluation package. If you have had such a bad experience with these guys then I might think twice before I go in that direction. 4) I tried compiling my application using the -thread option (i:e to link with the thread safe lib ) and it keeps complaining " can not find -ldce". Looks like I can not proceed any further without the DCE library. I would really like to hear from you.
