Morning All, I maintain a financial system written using an older version of FourGen and I can safely say it is messy. FourGen has its place, no question about that, our biggest maintenance apps are written in it, some over 40k lines of code. Try and trace a bug in one of those puppies, since in Fourgen everything is a function call to a library you dont have source for. I'd say that with the right training it could be a usefull app, but the code it generates is huge... brett In article <8kcul8$5re$1@news.xmission.com>, benj@firstlinux.net says... > > > > --- "Martin, Wayne E." <WMartin@kmart.com> > > wrote: > >4Gen was purchased by HKsystems and I think HK is > >still selling, supporting the accounting system. > > > > Did anybody have a good experience with FourGen? A company I used to work for bought it but never implemented it. The consensus was that it wasn't useable and FourGen's response was basically, "Of course not, you have to customize it to fit the needs of the business." The bosses thought it a bit pricey to not at least work generically out of the box. > > == > Maintainer of the procrastinator's FAQ.
