Yes, that could be it. Certainly, it is the first thing to try since
you don't have upgrade options. You're also pretty much out of
support, I believe, as the brickmarks testify.

Of course, it can't be a mission-critical system; there'd be no reason
to worry if it all went away and stopped working. Otherwise, the
upgrade would be permitted.
