Server Timing out! Have someone else experienced t

Using IDS7.31.UD8 with AIX 5.3, from time to time, while issuing inform= ix commands, the OS time out and broadcast the following message : The server is not responding for 5 seconds, timing out. Any ideas of what causing this, I am assuming under normal circumstance= s that should not happen. A while back, I opened a PMR on this issue with= Informix IBM tech support and it was suggested to be a memory leak and = to bounce the instance to confirm it if the message goes away or clear wit= h the bouncing. That did not clear it but each time when it became too persistent and the performance of the box with everything running on it= deteriorated to a point where it is unbearable, we would bounce the OS= itself and that will get us through for about a month and things seem t= o settle down afterwards. At the end, we ended up bouncing the box on a monthly basis for that is the only thing that gives us a break since bouncing Informix does not help. Please share any thoughts you might ha= ve on this and thanks in advance for your help! Does anyone else have seen= this before? Regards, jp=
Do you have NOAGE set? AIX is rather aggressive about aging long running apps.
