You get the price in your market from Informix for their engines. You need a development version of SE (Standard Engine, multi user), OnLine Workstation (single user), OnLine Workgroup Server (multi user) or OnLine DSA (for large databases on large machines). ODBC you might get from OpenLink (check http://www.openlinksw.com). They, as Informix, charge per concurrent user and you get the price from them. :Also if anybody has any experience how works ODBC with Informix, about :performance and if ODBC allows using all orders (like set isolation..., :set lock mode..., set optimization...). We find that ODBC works very good with Informix databases and the performance is excelent. You can do set isolation+++. Just make sure your development tool is able to use the passthrough option so all non standard sql can be sent directly to the engine (most tools should have this option), and that you don't use multipple sessions. MS Access seems to use multiple sessions in many cases, but I wouldn't dream of using that as a development tool. It's very nice for testing purposes though. :Thanks for answering. :-- : <Yakov Berkovitch - berko@tx1.elex.co.il> Nils.Myklebust@idg.no NM Data AS, P.O.Box 9090 Gronland, N-0133 Oslo, Norway My opinions are those of my company The Informix FAQ is at http://www.iiug.org
