Selecting and Formating Dates

I need to know the syntax for selecting and formating dates in Informix. In SQL Server if I run this "Select convert(varchar(10), getdate(), 12)" I get this "000811" I need something comprable in Informix. Thanks. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
