Hi Has anyone had any experience of setting up DBSPACES on a RAID 5 machine (in particular - running linux) I'm trying to make sure that there won't be any problems when I do the final port off the (un-RAIDed) HP machine to a RAIDed linux box - so would appreciate any advice in this area Thanks very much in advance for helpful hints, advice and horror stories on this issue ! -- John Horton DBA Cognito john.horton@cognito.co.uk
The key to good RAID prerformance is a controller with plenty of write cache. High end boxes like Network Appliances dont suffer performance problems with updates and adds.
