maximum identifier size on 7.xx servers

since when 7.xx servers support identifiers (table names, database names, user names) longer than 18 characters? tried to find it in faq, online documentation and release notes, but no luck. is there any resource where can i find it?

I believe the first version of Informix that supported identifiers greater than 18 characters is in the 9.2 version of Informix (of IDS.2000). But I could be wrong, I just know that was one of the things that was hyped up about IDS.2000, so I assume that was when it first became available.
