Hi, I have a problem de-bugging a 4GL program which requires command line parameters. The debugger (fgldb) doesn't seem to like these command line parameters. For example fglgo <progname> <parameter1> <parameter2> works OK but; fgldb <progname> <parameter1> <parameter2> doesn't work 8^( Thanks, Kire
Hi; QueriX 4GL Compilers provide full Source Level Debugging facilities, allowing you to step trough the 4GL lines, and intermediate C code, and many other facilities, depending on what would be your favorite debugger on your machine (dbx, gdb ... etc.) For more information please go to http://www.querix.com/ Kire Prostizenovski wrote: > Hi, > > I have a problem de-bugging a 4GL program which requires command line > parameters. Create a file named idb.4db in the current directory Here is the script I use... echo "alias c = co" >idb.4db echo "b main" >>idb.4db if [ ! -z "$1" ] then echo "b $1" >>idb.4db fi echo "run -d testdb" >>idb.4db fgldb Steve > >Thanks, > >Kire
OOPS, forgot the command line option... ------->>>>> fgldb -f idb.4db program.4gi Steve >True, but here is the way "around" the problem... >Create a file named idb.4db in the current directory > >Here is the script I use... >echo "alias c = co" >idb.4db >echo "b main" >>idb.4db >if [ ! -z "$1" ] >then > echo "b $1" >>idb.4db >fi >echo "run -d testdb" >>idb.4db >fgldb -f idb.4db > >Steve > >> >>Thanks, >> >>Kire > > >

If you want to supply parameters to the program, you specify them in the RUN command inside the debugger, not on the command line. RUN <parameter1> <parameter2> This is consistent with most of Unix debuggers -- adb, sdb, gdb, dbx, etc. (No, the last one is an abbreviation of etcetera :-). -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
