I would assign one page cleaner per disk. But this is only usefull
if you assign your chunks to your dbspaces in the right order and
if you balance your I/O across the disks.
In my terms a dbspace is a disk. If you have two disks for Informix:
1st chunk should reside on the 1st disk.
2nd chunk should reside on the 2nd disk.
3rd chunk should reside on the 1st disk.
4th chunk should reside on the 2nd disk.
If you are using the classic UNIX I/O:
NUMAIOVPS=3D2 ( if you run a lot of selects, use NUMAIOVPS=3D3 )
If you are using KAIO:
NUMAIOVPS should be set to 1.
If you are mirroring both disks by the means of Informix you should
set NUMAIOVPS to 4. ( In this case you have 4 disks ).
> 2) you have 30 mirrored disks do you assign 30 or 60 page cleaners?
30. Page cleaners do not perform any I/O. They are just =
responsible to transfer modified buffers to the AIO-subsystem.
