You can not grant access rights on row level. As a possible solution to your problem you can define views. With the where-condition within the select for the view you can restrict the access for every special user group. If you want to restrict access on database objects not only for single users, but for groups, you can think of using roles. This feature comes with V7.x. A role is nothing else than a group of users created and administered within Informix. You can grant and revoke rights like you do it with single users. For more detailed information rtfm.
