Database and ColdFusion connections

Hello all, We use ColdFusion (CF) as the web front end and informix version 10.fc9 on aix 5.3. It looks like CF manages the pooled connections and threads hitting the database just fine when the results are returned according to the time out setting. However, the problem is when the request times out and it appears CF no longer manages those time out connections. It does not reclaim them and manage them but instead , those connections stay out there connected to the DB. One suggestion was that a cron is put on the db server to kill CF connections after a set amount of time, which strikes me as not such a good path to even start walking down. The result has been a slow down in web screens and a high impact on server/DB resources. Developers are currently looking at version and various settings to resolve this and I am posting this to see if others have run into this and/or have insight to share Thanks,Tom
