RE: Thanks IBM...
Posted in 2010
Tsk, Tsk. While IBM doesn't like to talk about numbers, apparently others do. This is probably one of the first admissions of how much the rest of the ERP community relies on Oracle. I mean we knew that the bulk of the Informix instances of SAP were going Oracle, however we didn't know the overall impact. The point junior clown is that IBM's vision, albeit in the past has been confirmed to have been a flop. Again, nothing new here. But what is new is that we now have yet another revolving exec, trying to get his ticket punched and yet again making positive noise to the Informix community. We've seen it before. Say one thing to the IDS fanboi and then something else to the rest of the world. Trust is earned and while the new man is asking for credit, he expects us to forget all about his predecessors. Well, that's your choice. There have been a lot of ideas tossed out by myself and others how to fix part of the problems with no or little cost to IBM. Somehow they all fall on deaf ears. So I suggest that you take off your rose colored glasses, and your rose colored nose and smell the fscking coffee and sober up. Unlike Moi, your new best bud will be at the conference. Don't be afraid to toss hard hitting questions. Silicon valley is littered with great ideas that failed because of a lack of a sound marketing and sales plan/message/strategy. I'm sure some of my favorite fscktards will show. Maybe you'll get a chance to ask real questions, rather than the softballs that get pre-screened. But hey! What do I know. ;-) -G > Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 14:38:37 +0100 > From: obnoxio@serendipita.com > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: Re: Thanks IBM... > > Ian Michael Gumby wrote: > > "For example: almost two-thirds of SAP implementations run on Oracle's > > database, which means SAP - a company regularly pilloried by Ellison - > > actually translates into big money and helps keep Oracle's chief > > executive in yachts." > > > > Taken from: > > For example: almost two-thirds of SAP implementations run on Oracle's > > database, which means SAP - a company regularly pilloried by Ellison - > > actually translates into big money and helps keep Oracle's chief > > executive in yachts. > > RAID: Redundant Asinine Idiot's Drivel. > > -- > Cheers, > Obnoxio The Clown > > http://obotheclown.blogspot.com > I will now proceed to pleasure myself with this fish. > > -- > This message has been scanned for viruses and > dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is > believed to be clean. > > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy.
