ER replicate compressed tables

Folks, IDS12.10 FC4 If a table is replicated, How would it impact ER performance ( positively or negatively or ..) if we compress the table? Another question, If the table is compressed at one site only, ER will send the compressed data in the format in logical log and do un-compression in another site, correct or not? It is transmitted in uncompressed format. The overhead is basically the same as doing a select from a compressed table.
