Well, we've done one sun 5->7 port, and a heckuva lot of IBM and HP ones...

You have been mislead. The vast majority of your functionality will remain
the same, but there are enough little differences to bite you. Even little
things, like the way a NULL string is shown in a DISPLAY statement (I know,
but it happens) can change. Believe it or not, that one we even got a real
genuine Informix patch for!
The most important thing is not to treat this as a recompile, but as a full
port. Everything needs retesting, for instance. We pretended that it just
meant a rebuild (at first, a while back, before I was here). A big mistake
indeed.
Its well worth getting training in the new 7.x engine features as well, the
expanded onstat commands by themselves are a great help.
