Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Whoops, What I meant to say was...
Can anyone help with a problem with Informix/SE on UnixWare.
When we try to delete a record from a table (using SQL like: 'delete
from
product where product_code = "0030" ') Informix returns the following
error:
Error -242 occured in execute statement
Could not open database table (%s)(sic)
The ISAM code is -104
Too many open files.
The manual says that we should make the query less complex but somehow I
don't
think that would be easy for a delete!
I suspect it's something to do with referential constraints but can't be
sure.
I'm not convinced that it is directly attributable to the maximum number of open
files under Unix either -- it's set to it maximum (256) and the database is
only small, 15 tables with (at most) 70 records.
Any ides (cos the suppliers haven't :-( )
