JO>I'm very new to Informix and I'm trying to improve JO>performance for an Informix application we are running. The JO>application is Quintus and each process is consuming about 10 JO>megs of virtual memory on an HP 9000 server. Of the 10 megs JO>about 6meg is private data. Also the tbstat -p program JO>reports about a 95-97% cache hit rate on reads but less than JO>20% on writes.. I have BUFFERS set at 1000, LOCKS is about JO>the same, and the clean MIN/MAX values (can't remember the JO>parameter names) are 70 and 80.. I've made a few changes as JO>suggested by the ref manual tuning section and gotten some JO>improvement. Can anyone suggest anything I can do. Do I JO>need to provide more info about my tbconfig settings? JO> JO>Thanks in advance for any help. First of all the BUFFERS are too low. The LOCKS depend on the application. What is the size of your physical buffer? Email me your tbconfig and I will tell you what has worked for me. Also, is this a multi-user system? How many user? WHat type of queries? How much data? How many tables? Greg EMAIL: gawilson@netcom.com -- Greg Wilson Email: gawilson@netcom.com CIS: 76547,3106 BBS: 813-689-1252
