The difference is profound, especially on small systems. I don't know what informix did to make it faster, but it definitely runs faster than 7.12. I mentioned to informix people at the conference that the OWGS download needs to allow 7.22 for download without a credit card, and this is supposedly going to be fixed, so that you can evaluate 7.22 without a credit card. When this happens is anybody's guess, but I'd highly recommend you take a chance and get the 7.22 OWGS. And get the ROM 2.1 download as well.
