UK user group

I just discovered that a UK Informix user group meeting happened recently at an IBM event. Part of the reason I might not have been informed is that IBM wiped my iSource profile for no apparent reason, so I wasn't getting newsletters. However, this also means that either the existing UKIUG address list has got lost or it was not used to publicise the meeting - very strange either way. Who was there, what was discussed, are any notes going to be posted, who is now running the group, and when is the next one? -- Regards, Doug Lawry www.douglawry.webhop.org

At the recent "London" Infobahn - actually held in Bedfont - two weeks ago, UK IUG Committee members Keith Simmons and Ian Goddard explained the user group was still alive and well, that it is planned to hold another event in the early autumn, and that the group was keen for new blood to join the steering committee. If you'd like to participate as a committee member, email UK IUG Chairman David Linthwaite at ukiug@iiug.org: I'm sure he'd be delighted to have an extra volunteer to help run the group. Otherwise, look out for details of the autumn event sometime after next Thursday's UK IUG Steering Committee meeting. The UK IUG does not share its membership list with IBM, nor vice versa, for privacy reasons, so any administrative problems you may be having with IBM will not affect the user group's ability to communicate with you. Such communication is usually done by cdi posting and my email contact with previous user group event attendees and apologists.
Thanks for clarifying this, Neil. I'll get in touch with David.
