On SCO 5.0.4, Informix SE 7.23, 4GL 6.04, S3 Trio V64 GX 86C785 graphics adapter(integrated with DEC ZX6200 motherboard): On my console screens, I cannot get the termcap correct for border characters to work. I copied the termcap definition from my old SCO 3.2v4.2 (SE 5.01, 4GL 4.12) box over to the /usr/informix/etc/termcap file, and I get bogus characters when trying to show a box. The ones I copied for my wy60's and vt220's work fine. I have verified that environment vars. are correct and that the /usr/informix/etc/termcap is being used and that the terminal type is matching. Here is the termcap entry being used (I believe its originally from the iiug web page software area): ansicolor|ansi_color|Ansi with informix stuff for color:\\ :al=\\E[L:am:bs:cd=\\E[J:ce=\\E[K:cl=\\E[2J\\E[H:cm=\\E[%i%d;%dH:co#80:\\ :dc=\\E[P:dl=\\E[M:do=\\E[B:bt=\\E[Z:ei=:ho=\\E[H:ic=\\E[@:im=:li#25:\\ :nd=\\E[C:pt:so=\\E[7m:se=\\E[m:us=\\E[4m:ue=\\E[m:up=\\E[A:\\ :kn#15:\\ :kb=^h:ku=\\E[A:kd=\\E[B:kl=\\E[D:kr=\\E[C:eo:sf=\\E[S:sr=\\E[T:\\ :k0=\\E[M:k1=\\E[N:k2=\\E[O:k3=\\E[P:k4=\\E[Q:k5=\\E[R:\\ :k6=\\E[S:k7=\\E[T:k8=\\E[U:k9=\\E[V:k10=\\E[W:\\ :kB=\\E[X:\\ :kC=\\E[F:\\ :kD=\\E[I:\\ :kE=\\E[G:\\ :CW=\\E[M:NU=\\E[N:RF=\\E[O:RC=\\E[P:\\ :WL=\\E[S:WR=\\E[T:CL=\\E[U:CR=\\E[V:\\ :HM=\\E[H:EN=\\E[F:PU=\\E[I:PD=\\E[G:\\ :ti=\\E[7;7;8m\\EQ0`\\E[M`\\EQ1`\\E[N`\\EQ2`\\E[O`\\EQ3`\\E[P`\\EQ4`\\E[Q`\\EQ5`\\E[R`:\\ :te=\\E[2;15;0m\\E[7;0;15m:\\ # :gs=:ge=:gb=\\332\\310\\273\\274\\315\\272:\\ :ZA=\\E[2;%?%p1%{0}%=%t2%e%p1%{1}%=%t14%e%p1%{2}%=%t13%e%p1%{3}%=%t12%e%p 1%{4}%=%t11%e%p1%{5}%=%t10%e%p1%{6}%=%t9%e%p1%{7}%=%t15;0m\\E[%;;0m%?%p2%t\\E[2;0; 11m%;%?%p3%t\\E[5m%;%?%p4%t\\E[4m%;: :gs=\\E[12m:ge=\\E[10m:gb=IH;<M\\072:\\ :GS=\\E[12m:GE=\\E[10m:GV=\\E[12m3:GH=D:\\ :GC=E:GL=\\E[12m4:GR=C:RT=^J:G1=?:G2=Z:G3=@:G4=Y:GU=A:GD=B: I tried uncommenting the gs=:ge=:gb=..... line and commenting out the other gs= lines. This gave me the identical characters. When I change the box draw ascii char numbers I get other bogus characters. The characters seem to correspond to the ISO supplemental character set. i.e. 310 is an E with a backward tick over it and the 332 is u with a forward tick over it. Unfortunately, this character set doesn't have the necessary line draw characters in it. Is there a setting for ascii character set that I am missing somewhere? Could this be caused by an incorrect software driver for the S3 graphics chip? TIA, Matt Brickley
