Backward Compatibility of IDS v9.4
Hi all, Currently my application is using Client SDK v2.3, while server is going to be upgraded to IDS v9.4. Would anyone have the information about the list of Informix Client SDK version in which the IDS v9.4 is backward compatible to? Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

CSDK 2.30 should connect to IDS v9.40 without problems. CSDK 2.30 was released with ESQL/C version 9.21 - hence just about he turn of the millennium. It is therefore high time you upgraded to a newer version, and rebuilt your application. If you want to look at the IBM web site, you'd probably find that CSDK 2.30 is out of support and therefore the upgrade is in order. Further, you are unlikely to find any official statement that you may use it with IDS 9.40. However, empirically and practically, unless you run foul of a bug, the code is likely to continue to work - older versions of ESQL/C have connected successfully to newer servers. If you can't find a document on the IBM web site about it that covers the information you want, try asking Tech Support.
