Hello I have an informix DBserver installed on a unix machine. I'm trying to do an ODBC connection(on NT) but I can't seem to figure out how to get the service name. Can someone please let me know what I'm missing thanks Sunit Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
You should have a file in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc directory called 'sqlhosts'. The 4th column should tell you your service for the tcp stack. The entry maps back to the /etc/services file. The service name is in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts file entry for the server on the server host. Art S.
