Lots of writes in sysprocplans, why?

Hi. While I was studying contention on disk issues, I realized that my sysprocplan has a lot of write activity - in fact, it's the most written table, according to sysptprof; the next one is a batch-used table which has only the third part of writes -. There's no table modifications which could lead to sps reoptimization. Which could be the reason? Working on a Solaris 9 server, using IDS 10 FC8 (have just migrated from IDS 940) Thanks in advance Omar

You can work around the problem by making sure your table dictionary cache is large enough so that the tables that the stored procedure has dependencies on are not removed from the dictionary cache. If they are getting removed, that is what makes the stored procedure think it needs to reoptimize. The APAR number for the 11.x family is IC59206. Jacques Renaut IBM IDS Technical Support APD team
