how do I get dbspace for index

Hello all and thaks for trying to answer my message.
Please tell me how I can find out on which dbspace an index is
created. I need to do this from a C program, thus I need to know the
SQL statements I need to execute, I do not want to run dbschema and
parse it's output. My boss will kill me if I do it that way.
I found out how to get dbscpace for a table, so please don't send me
instructions on how to do that.
Looking forward to seeing your answers/suggestions.
Thanks.

How about this?
select dbspace
from sysfragments
where indexname = 'name_of_index'
and fragtype = 'I'
If dbspace is null then the index is attached and thus its
dbspace-of-creation and the table's dbspace-of-creation would be the
same.
