Hi all, I have a question for you friends. if I want to exporte and import a big database, can I have a long transaction when I import my database if the logging is seting on ? if yes, do you think that the best solution is : 1. export the databse. 2. import the database whitout log. 3. turn the mode log to 'whit log' 4. do a level 0 archive ??? thanks ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Yes, dbimport will cause a Long Transaction in some cases.
Your solution will work.
and you can get by with an ontape -s -U databasename that will do your
archive and switch logging. Do it to /dev/null if you are looking to save
time.
