Hi everyone, How do I create a synonym in a Server that runs informix 11.7 FC7 on HPUX itanium pointing to a table in a Linux distriubution with informix 11.7 FC7? It always gave me a password error. Thanks André Luiz Rufino
You must have the user on the Linux distribution and: 1- make sure you establish the trust relation in the files you're using (can be /etc/hosts.equiv, ~/.rhosts or the files specified in REMOTE_SERVER_CFG or REMOTE_USER_CFG parameters 2- You must make sure the trust uses the nomenclature as seen by the Linux machine (IP address, or reverse DNS) 3- Newer versions may need that besides the identity perceived by the Linux machine, it may also need an entry as the client sees itself Sorry, but "password" error is a bit vague. Please show the error in the online.log file of the remote (Linux) machine. -952 which is the password error would be a bit surprising.... Ok, Fernando. Thanks a lot. I got two machines in a cluster environment and I MUST to declare on hosts, and hosts.equiv on both of then. That was the problem.
