If you do want to "trick" the executable into thinking it's running in CGI, set them something like this: setenv SERVER_NAME <anything> setenv REQUEST_METHOD <GET or POST> Then it can be run from the command line. All icgi_start() does is read and store the CGI-specific environment variables as well as the name-value pairs from your HTML form. It has to know the REQUEST_METHOD in order to do this right. Otherwise, it doesn't depend on at all on the version of the database or compiler. =============================================================== Matthew Eichler Project Manager Informix Software, Inc.
