CDI Reorg/Job Postings

All, The Board of Directors of the International Informix User Group (IIUG) has considered the issue of adding an Informix jobs list, as has been recently been discussed in this group to the IIUG server. For a number of reasons, we have decided not to establish such a list at this time. The reasons include: (1) It is unlikely that adding a jobs list would cut down on the number of jobs posted to this group. (2) As a user group, we don't want to be in the position of having employers think we are in the job recruitment business. (3) As an international user group, we need to consider how a jobs list is perceived by other cultures. For instance, in some countries, posting information to these types of lists could be illegal. The IIUG would not want to be an inadverdent accomplice to an illegal action, regardless of our best of intentions. I know this is not the answer some of you were looking for, but I hope you will be able to accept this decision and our reasons for making it.
