IDS 9.4 taking time to shutdown

Hi All,
I would like to ask about why IDS 9.4UC6 is taking time to shutdown. It's has
replication. When i perform a restart of the primary it takes me 1 to 1.5
hours to shutdown the primary database.
onmode -c; >>>>> This takes a lot, 1 hour.
onmode -ky; >>>> kill and yes to all sessions.
I would like to ask what is db_prping process. I am suspecting this is the
process that holds the shutting down of the instance. Upon checking on forums,
it's a replication session. Is there a way to make the shutdown faster?
Here's the output from my server IDS 9.4UC6.

Jack,
I would suspect that onmode -c is what is holding you up given the string of
commands you provided. If a checkpoint is blocked, the first thing I would do
is try to find out why. Begin my looking at onstat -u for an "X" in position 5
(in a critical section) and go from there.
Afraid I cannot speak for the " db_prping" part of your question.
Dan

Hi Dan, Thank you for the hint you provided. I'll check it out why is the cause why the checkpoint is unable to complete. Will send an update if there's any progress on this issue. Thanks again. Appreciate your help. Regards, Jack
